After 6 played minutes Toronto Marlies FC got a freekick which was hit by Gigel Bucur. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacob May in the 8th minute of play forced Toronto Marlies FC's goalkeeper Anfilogino Amicone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Gigel Bucur managed to get in a good position for a shot. Toronto Marlies FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gigel Bucur was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marco Day breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gigel Bucur in the 14th minute of play. Toronto Marlies FC's Gerard Pique managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Jenson Smith in the 19 minute of the game. Marco Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gigel Bucur, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jenson Smith in the 23rd minute of play forced Toronto Marlies FC's goalkeeper Anfilogino Amicone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Toronto Marlies FC's Tracy Narcisse quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Diego Bradley, made in the 24th minute of the game. In the 40th minute Cassius Byrne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anfilogino Amicone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gigel Bucur made a kick off. A collision led to USA getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Zach Harrison hit a great ball. Diego Bradley made in the 57th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Monty Rogers however managed to control. In the 57th minute, Gerard Pique hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 61 minutes into the match, Gigel Bucur notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of USA's Marco Day. Marco Day was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 64 minutes into the match, Cassius Byrne dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Anfilogino Amicone, 3-1. A hard shot 70 in the game by Cassius Byrne from a close distance when the talented Anfilogino Amicone managed to make a qualified save. Toronto Marlies FC's players were relieved. In the 71st match minute, Toronto Marlies FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Passarelli to maneuver through the defense. Toronto Marlies FC made a substitution. The supporters of USA booed when Toronto Marlies FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Léopold Thomas didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 84 played minutes, USA's Jenson Smith shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Anfilogino Amicone came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in USA reached it. 89 minutes into the match, Toronto Marlies FC's goalkeeper Anfilogino Amicone had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sam Campbell. Noel Hamlin charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Noel Hamlin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Toronto Marlies FC's Noel Hamlin got a free kick in the 91st minute. Sam Campbell's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Anfilogino Amicone firmly grabbed it by the left post. Many of USA's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. USA may have spent more time on the ball, but Toronto Marlies FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
