The audience thought a goal was coming when Spas Spitzmüller got free with Julio Vera in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Uğuralp Vasfi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. Daniel Zoritas short, quick shot in the 57thth minute got Uğuralp Vasfi to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vidal Domingo in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aila Van in the 94th minute of the match. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than A.C Barak throughout the match.
