In the 11th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 14 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Krum Razsolkov came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Cristian Sancho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Didi Tróia was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elias Batista got free with Julio Vera in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 31 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Agustín Saelices. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Elias Batista stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Elias Batista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Didi Tróia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Luís Batista in the 36th minute of play. Pedro Luís Batista's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 42ndth minute, when ContraVersão's Elias Batista fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. ContraVersão's Elias Batista was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 42nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. ContraVersão's Didi Tróia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 46th minute of play.

Elias Batista kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Didi Tróia made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Agustín Saelices sent off a good shot on target. ContraVersão's Didi Tróia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save ContraVersão from getting a goal against them. In the 73rd minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. ContraVersão's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elias Batista in the 75th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elias Batista got in the 76th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Julio Vera handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Didi Tróia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Didi Tróia firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 90th minute, Primitivo Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 91st minute Elias Batista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 92nd minute, Felix Montenegro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. ContraVersão succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Ecuador had controlled the match.
