The audience thought a goal was coming when Joris De Raeve got free with Julio Vera in the 2nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 5 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sean Van Dijck. Sean Van Dijck dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Fredrik Terwenhout tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sean Van Dijck having to interfere. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Limburg United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anios Karaoulanis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sean Van Dijck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. 15 minutes had been played when some careless play by Limburg United's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Limburg United's Sean Van Dijck did a great save. Sean Van Dijck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Limburg United's goalkeeper Sean Van Dijck, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 20th minute. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Sean Van Dijck quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Agustín Saelices took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sean Van Dijck. With an all-out effort, Limburg United's Julio Vera threw himself towards the right post 26 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Fredrik Terwenhout, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When Amador Azailla fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Limburg United's protests and gave Amador Azailla a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Limburg United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amador Azailla didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fredrik Terwenhout could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. In the 33rd minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Limburg United's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 34th minute, Primitivo Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fredrik Terwenhout fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. In the 41st minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sean Van Dijck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 42th minute after Limburg United's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fredrik Terwenhout in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fredrik Terwenhout made a kick off. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fredrik Terwenhout, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fredrik Terwenhout in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Sean Van Dijck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 56th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Sean Van Dijck firmly grabbed it by the left post. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sean Van Dijck having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Brend Vanden Driessche in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fredrik Terwenhout in the 79th minute of play. Sean Van Dijck was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Anios Karaoulanis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Limburg United's supporters rose to their feet, but Anios Karaoulanis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 95th minute, Daniel Zorita fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Ecuador's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
