Silvinho Quintal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Marcos Cotilla made a huge save. 21 minutes into the game, Rogério Barreto lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Marcos Cotilla. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pinheiros Capibaras FC's goalkeeper Tang Quan Yan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Dylan Sarmiento fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Panama's protests and gave Dylan Sarmiento a yellow card for diving instead. Dylan Sarmiento hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Narciso Mendes in the 33rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Silvinho Quintal got free with Marcos Cotilla in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tomas Berganza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Silvinho Quintal during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Silvinho Quintal kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. The supporters of Pinheiros Capibaras FC booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dylan Sarmiento didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Narciso Mendes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Matthew Garrido hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Silvinho Quintal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silvinho Quintal in the 53rd minute of the match. Jhonny Rabelo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 69 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Silvinho Quintal came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Rogério Barreto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tang Quan Yan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Berganza, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Abraham Alguacil hit a great ball. After 81 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Panama! In the 83rd minute there was a penalty for Pinheiros Capibaras FC. Silvinho Quintal stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Marcos Cotilla. 2-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Tomas Berganza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panama's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Berganza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tang Quan Yan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 91 played minutes Pinheiros Capibaras FC got a freekick which was hit by Codruț Luncașu. In the 92nd minute, Abraham Alguacil sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Pinheiros Capibaras FC's Tang Quan Yan didn't even have to move. Tang Quan Yan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Berganza in the 95th minute of the match. Tomas Berganza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tang Quan Yan having to interfere. Panama's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
