In the 16th minute, 邵伟坚 hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eduardo Coyences made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 17th minute of play. Eduardo Coyences took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Los Payasitos's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joaquín Vásquez in the 34th minute. A nice corner shot did that Joaquín Vásquez got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The audience was convinced that Ismael Barreto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. 顾笑源 sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 邵伟坚 hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Eduardo Coyences tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 54 minutes, 邵伟坚 mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Los Payasitos and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Los Payasitos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. 邵伟坚 didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Felix Montenegro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Eduardo Coyences. That made the score 0-1 after 55 minutes of play. In the 60thth minute of the game 顾笑源 who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Eduardo Coyences made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 65th minute. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Eduardo Coyences tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Los Payasitos's Eduardo Coyences proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Los Payasitos from getting a goal against them. 顾笑源 scored 1-1 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Los Payasitos made a substitution. Slim Lim replaced 邵伟坚. Los Payasitos's 巩明星 was substituted for Joaquín Vásquez. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The crowd rose to their feet as Felix Montenegro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Eduardo Coyences. That made the score 2-2 in the 91 minute of play.
