In the 10th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guillermo Mariano to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by 顾笑源 in the 14th minute. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, 顾笑源 took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Jonathan Ferrant to make any attempt to save it. Eduardo Coyences took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 25 in the game by 顾笑源 from a close distance when the talented Jonathan Ferrant managed to make a qualified save. Venezuela's players were relieved. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, 顾笑源 stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and 顾笑源 tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 28 minutes, Patricio Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patricio Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. 顾笑源 could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 顾笑源 in the 38th minute of the match. 顾笑源's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 42ndth minute, Jonathan Ferrant skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. A collision led to Los Payasitos getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Luís Ceresso hit a great ball. Eduardo Coyences showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Joaquín Vásquez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Eduardo Coyences made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. Rigoberto Mina charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rigoberto Mina the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 58 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Rigoberto Mina. 59 minutes into the match, Los Payasitos's Ismael Barreto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonathan Ferrant narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 61 minutes into the match, 顾笑源 notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 顾笑源, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. 顾笑源 took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Los Payasitos's 巩明星 was substituted for Ismael Barreto. After having played for 76 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eduardo Coyences was out of position in the 80 minute of play, and Patricio Costa capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Patricio Costa really showed his touch with that goal: 4-1. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Eduardo Coyences made a huge save. In the 93rd minute, Los Payasitos's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Tomas Illescas fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 95 minutes into the match, 巩明星 had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that 巩明星 was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1.
