The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fevzi Baykara struck a weak shot in the 2nd minute. Dante Lacasa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Śląsk Bytom. Antoni Brama made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 7th minute of play. Ulryk Miazga's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Dante Lacasa firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 18th minute Fevzi Baykara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roch Zajonc made a great header on Śląsk Bytom's corner, it was just that Mexico's Dante Lacasa managed to reach the ball for a save. If Aleksander Birkenhagen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ulryk Miazga got free with Dante Lacasa in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Ulryk Miazga tried to sneak it across the goal line. 38 minutes into the match, Fevzi Baykara notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Mexico's Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 41st minute Fevzi Baykara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Śląsk Bytom booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Tafalla didn't get a good kick on the ball. The long shot by Sivert Eliasson in the 43rd minute really tested Dante Lacasa's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Ulryk Miazga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Dante Lacasa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Śląsk Bytom's Kazimierz Ewertowski managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Macos Graciani in the 46 minute of the game. A collision led to Śląsk Bytom getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Kazimierz Ewertowski hit a great ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fevzi Baykara made a kick off. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Śląsk Bytom's Fevzi Baykara. But to his dismay, Fevzi Baykara quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. A collision led to Śląsk Bytom getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Ulryk Miazga hit a great ball. Śląsk Bytom made a substitution. Krzysztof Wieck replaced Roch Zajonc. The supporters of Mexico booed when Śląsk Bytom was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ulryk Miazga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Antoni Brama was a little too slow when Joel Gaona got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 71st minute. The score was now 2-1. In the 74th minute, Joel Gaona got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alberto Tafalla blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Antoni Brama having to make a save. Śląsk Bytom's Antoni Brama proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Śląsk Bytom from getting a goal against them. Facundo Cadaval charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Facundo Cadaval the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 81 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Facundo Cadaval. Śląsk Bytom's Antoni Brama proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Śląsk Bytom from getting a goal against them. Lorenzo Cazalla kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sivert Eliasson in the 93rd minute of the match. The Śląsk Bytom players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
