Mariano Lacasa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonatan Bortzaioriz having to interfere. Mariano Lacasa might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonatan Bortzaioriz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mariano Lacasa ran back to his position shaking his head. 11 minutes into the match, Cañada Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Jonatan Bortzaioriz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 16 minutes, Thiago Pliego successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 17 minutes into the match, Chile's Mariano Lacasa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonatan Bortzaioriz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 24th minute of play forced Cañada Juniors's goalkeeper Jonatan Bortzaioriz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Chile getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Mariano Lacasa hit a great ball. Mariano Lacasa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cañada Juniors's Jonatan Bortzaioriz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orlando Casaus in the 34th minute of play. Mariano Lacasa took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonatan Bortzaioriz. Jonatan Bortzaioriz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Chile's Thiago Pliego proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Chile from getting a goal against them. Chile's Felix Garrido quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Vladimiro Bernabel, made in the 45th minute of the game. After the first half Chile were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Mariano Lacasa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mariano Lacasa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Jonatan Bortzaioriz made a huge save. 54 minutes into the match, Cañada Juniors's goalkeeper Jonatan Bortzaioriz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mariano Lacasa. In the 57th minute, Adolfo Batista ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Thiago Pliego was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Chile's Orlando Casaus got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 63 minutes into the match, Cañada Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Jonatan Bortzaioriz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Lacasa got free with Jonatan Bortzaioriz in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Chile booed when Cañada Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maximiliano Aznar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adolfo Batista in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Thiago Pliego prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jonatan Bortzaioriz was a little too slow when Mariano Lacasa got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 76th minute. The score was now 1-2. Cañada Juniors made a substitution. Sebastian Jaunzuria replaced Abayhan Nedret. Cañada Juniors's Jonatan Bortzaioriz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Cañada Juniors from getting a goal against them. 87 minutes into the match, Cañada Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Jonatan Bortzaioriz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gerardo Pozo kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match.
