Marc Ploughman didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emiliano Gaudino went, in the 5th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Emiliano Gaudino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marc Ploughman read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. A collision led to Vicenza Wanderers getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Phillip Leeson hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Antolin Valdivia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ibura Dortmund's supporters rose to their feet, but Antolin Valdivia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marc Ploughman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 20 minutes, Caco Vaz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ibura Dortmund's supporters crossed their fingers, but Caco Vaz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Emiliano Gaudino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Richie Hellen kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Antolin Valdivia struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Marc Ploughman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ibura Dortmund. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Vicenza Wanderers reached it. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vince Riad to make the kick off. Tiaguinho Pereira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vince Riad, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tadeu Botelho during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Tadeu Botelho hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. In the 59th minute, Emiliano Gaudino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sérgio Esteves during the 64th minute. The goal made the score 2-1. 85 minutes into the game, Ibura Dortmund's Horacio Errapel nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marc Ploughman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. When Horacio Errapel came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Ibura Dortmund fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Horacio Errapel couldn't finish the play. Horacio Errapel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ibura Dortmund walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
