Vicenza Wanderers's Marc Ploughman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Concetto Di Massimo in the 3rd minute of play. When Arturo Marinelli fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Villazzano's protests and gave Arturo Marinelli a yellow card for diving instead. In the 4th match minute, Villazzano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arturo Marinelli to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 9 minutes, Ozzy Budden managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vicenza Wanderers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ozzy Budden was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 11 minutes into the match, Vince Riad notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Villazzano's Emiliano Scatena. Emiliano Scatena was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Emiliano Scatena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vince Riad, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Concetto Di Massimo in the 18th minute of play forced Vicenza Wanderers's goalkeeper Marc Ploughman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marc Ploughman came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Villazzano's Claudio Simeoni. But to his dismay, Claudio Simeoni quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 25 minutes in the game, Vince Riad fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Emiliano Scatena having to interfere. 27 minutes into the game, Vicenza Wanderers's Vince Riad nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Emiliano Scatena made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Ozzy Budden succeeded in the game's 31st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-1. In the 35th minute, Vince Riad left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vicenza Wanderers fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. After 37 minutes, Ozzy Budden mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vicenza Wanderers and the Villazzano players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ozzy Budden hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Marc Ploughman didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Claudio Simeoni went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score. Emiliano Scatena made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vince Riad in the 44th minute. After having played for 45 minutes, Vince Riad managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vicenza Wanderers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vince Riad was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marc Ploughman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Concetto Di Massimo in the 48th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-2 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Claudio Simeoni was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Villazzano's Edoardo Melfi got a free kick in the 51st minute. Ron Sharples's shot from long distance was a real pearl which went to the right and just passed Emiliano Scatena - 5-2 was put on the score board in the 51st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Ozzy Budden managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vicenza Wanderers's supporters rose to their feet, but Ozzy Budden was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emiliano Scatena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 57th minute, Vince Riad made a precise shot to the right of Emiliano Scatena. Villazzano's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-2. After having played for 67 minutes, Vince Riad managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vicenza Wanderers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vince Riad was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 71st minute Concetto Di Massimo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marc Ploughman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 74 minutes into the match, Vince Riad had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Emiliano Scatena. Villazzano's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vince Riad was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 8-2. Ozzy Budden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emiliano Scatena came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Vicenza Wanderers's John Newman. But to his dismay, John Newman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 9-2. If Vince Riad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 86th match minute, Villazzano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arturo Marinelli to maneuver through the defense. Concetto Di Massimo kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Vicenza Wanderers's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
