The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Octavio Stahl sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Octavio Stahl who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 5thth minute tested the skills of Donovan Overton when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Gabriel Rogers hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. The supporters of FC Figari booed when Air Nomads was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Randolph Murphy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gilbert Woodson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Scot Carlisle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abdul Hatfield fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donovan Overton having to interfere. 25 minutes into the game, Abdul Hatfield lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Donovan Overton. Donovan Overton made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Octavio Stahl sent off a good shot on target. After 29 played minutes FC Figari got a freekick which was hit by Duane Duarte. Gilbert Woodson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Scot Carlisle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Abdul Hatfield came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Air Nomads fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abdul Hatfield couldn't finish the play. Rocky Calloway kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. 42 minutes into the match, Air Nomads's goal looked a bit too open when Dave Hatch came free, but Gilbert Woodson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Jeff Ott managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Figari's supporters rose to their feet, but Jeff Ott was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilbert Woodson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dave Hatch was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 58 minutes, Heriberto Fay managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Figari's supporters crossed their fingers, but Heriberto Fay was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gilbert Woodson came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Figari's Scot Carlisle. But to his dismay, Scot Carlisle quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. The audience was convinced that Octavio Stahl's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Donovan Overton was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. In the 64th match minute, FC Figari was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Duane Duarte to maneuver through the defense. In the 68th minute Dave Hatch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilbert Woodson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in FC Figari's zone, Octavio Stahl stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Donovan Overton came out of the goal and Octavio Stahl tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Donovan Overton stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jerrod Tripp's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. When Octavio Stahl came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Air Nomads fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Octavio Stahl couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abdul Hatfield in the 75th minute of play forced FC Figari's goalkeeper Donovan Overton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Donovan Overton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriel Rogers, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Gilbert Woodson made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Heriberto Fay sent off a good shot on target. Octavio Stahl might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Donovan Overton. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Octavio Stahl ran back to his position shaking his head. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gabriel Rogers in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Donovan Overton saved FC Figari from getting behind. Octavio Stahl struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Donovan Overton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Air Nomads. The supporters of FC Figari booed when Air Nomads was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Richie Dykes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 89 minutes, Gilbert Woodson successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Gilbert Woodson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Heriberto Fay in the 90th minute. FC Figari's Donovan Overton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abdul Hatfield in the 93rd minute of play. When Scot Carlisle fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Figari's protests and gave Scot Carlisle a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, FC Figari's Scot Carlisle got a free kick in the 94th minute. In the 95th match minute, FC Figari was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dave Hatch to maneuver through the defense.
