The supporters of Cusco FC booed when Paulopolis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rui Baiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hakim Frémont made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ticho Paya in the 12th minute of play. Sílvio Luís Mello hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. In the 19th minute, Osmar Falcão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 21 minutes, Matias Gorron managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cusco FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matias Gorron was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rodriguez Baptiste took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hakim Frémont. Hakim Frémont dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Lino Meira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Inge Tuero made a huge save. Inge Tuero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lino Meira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rodas Alfaro kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Inge Tuero was a little too slow when Lino Meira got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 41st minute. The score was now 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

A collision led to Paulopolis getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Rui Baiano hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Egídio Fonseca during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 55 played minutes Paulopolis got a freekick which was hit by Egídio Fonseca. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ticho Paya got free with Hakim Frémont in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 68 minutes of play, Paulopolis's Lino Meira made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Inge Tuero was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rui Baiano kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. If Mário Simão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ezequiel Cotillo hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Lino Meira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Inge Tuero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulopolis's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cusco FC the free kick.
