An unexpectedly hard shot by Eustacio Astrada in the 13th minute of play forced Aston Villa FC's goalkeeper Marcus Engström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bo Lange to make the kick off. Humphrey Virgin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Marcus Engström made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eustacio Astrada got free with Marcus Engström in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After taking down the ball on Crusaders's corner Todd Morrison fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Marcus Engström quite easily take care of the ball. Marcus Engström stood somewhat misplaced when Todd Morrison came free in front of goal and shot 0-6 to the left of him in the 82 minute. Humphrey Virgin did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-7 to the left of a surprised Marcus Engström 88 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Aston Villa FC defense, Todd Morrison kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcus Engström. The Aston Villa FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcus Engström should have stopped the shot. In the 97th play minute Eustacio Astrada came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Marcus Engström. 0-9. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Crusaders eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
