After 4 played minutes Buenaventura FC got a freekick which was hit by André-Pierre Gignac. André-Pierre Gignac received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Raul Gar came out and tried to block the shot, but André-Pierre Gignac slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 6th minute. Djurgården Sthlm's Denis Stoicea got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Djurgården Sthlm's Raul Gar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André-Pierre Gignac in the 11th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling André-Pierre Gignac in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Raul Gar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some careless play in the Buenaventura FC defense, Denis Stoicea kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Toro Martínez. The Buenaventura FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Toro Martínez should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Djurgården Sthlm getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Lars Rydelius hit a great ball. 21 minutes into the match, Djurgården Sthlm's goal looked a bit too open when André-Pierre Gignac came free, but Raul Gar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25th minute, Denis Stoicea ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Toro Martínez was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. After 29 played minutes Djurgården Sthlm got a freekick which was hit by Sten Mossberg. The audience was convinced that André-Pierre Gignac's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Raul Gar was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Jonas Tholsson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Toro Martínez having to make a save. Raul Gar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André-Pierre Gignac in the 41st minute of play. In the 45th minute, Jairo de Azevedo made a precise shot to the right of Raul Gar. Djurgården Sthlm's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Denis Stoicea took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for Toro Martínez to make any attempt to save it. In the 58th minute, Alberto Aizprua ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Raul Gar was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-3. 60 minutes into the match, Jairo de Azevedo notched a goal, 4-3, to the right of Djurgården Sthlm's Raul Gar. Raul Gar was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Djurgården Sthlm's Raul Gar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jairo de Azevedo in the 64th minute of play. Walter Bock took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Raul Gar. Raul Gar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-3. After some careless play in the Djurgården Sthlm defense, André-Pierre Gignac kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Raul Gar. The Djurgården Sthlm fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Raul Gar should have stopped the shot. In the 75th minute of the match Buenaventura FC got a corner. Djurgården Sthlm's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Walter Bock ran over to the corner to take the kick. Raul Gar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André-Pierre Gignac in the 76th minute of play. Torsten Bammerman charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Torsten Bammerman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Buenaventura FC booed when Djurgården Sthlm was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Torsten Bammerman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Djurgården Sthlm's Raul Gar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jairo de Azevedo in the 80th minute of play. In the 81st minute, Alberto Aizprua ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Raul Gar was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-3. Raul Gar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Walter Bock, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. In the 93rd match minute, Djurgården Sthlm was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denis Stoicea to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denis Stoicea in the 96th minute of play forced Buenaventura FC's goalkeeper Toro Martínez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
