In the 16th minute, Crusaders's Abel Alonso seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Abel Alonso the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Crusaders protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Abel Alonso had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The supporters of Glentown FC booed when Crusaders was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Alonso didn't get a good kick on the ball. 18 minutes into the match, Crusaders's goal looked a bit too open when Mister Nudel came free, but Ernest Paddle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
