Toma Merlushkin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A sloppy throw-in by Ronaldo Feloaga in the 32nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by 25 de Abril Futbol Club's Sixto Manilan. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind El Pinar's goalkeeper Ni Tian Peng, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 40 minutes into the match, Slawomir Turak had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ni Tian Peng. El Pinar's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Slawomir Turak was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. With a little luck, El Pinar's Ni Tian Peng got control of the ball when Severiano Oliviero tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanos Kalikis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bizi Quemada having to interfere. 49 minutes into the match, El Pinar's Toma Merlushkin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bizi Quemada narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Toma Merlushkin's late challenge caught a 25 de Abril Futbol Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Toma Merlushkin helped the player get up and apologised. After 52 played minutes El Pinar got a freekick which was hit by Toma Merlushkin.
