When Gabon Salantes came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Cusco FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gabon Salantes couldn't finish the play. Cusco FC's Johan Schönberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oscar Castro in the 19th minute of play. Cresitobalo Rilo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Diamantino Arruda read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. After taking down the ball on Cusco FC's corner Carlos Zambrano fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Diamantino Arruda quite easily take care of the ball. Cresitobalo Rilo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diamantino Arruda having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cresitobalo Rilo to strike the kick off in the second half. Gabon Salantes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Diamantino Arruda made a huge save. After having played for 56 minutes, Carlos Zambrano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cusco FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Zambrano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sosoco FC's Diamantino Arruda proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Sosoco FC from getting a goal against them. Cresitobalo Rilo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 61stth minute tested the skills of Diamantino Arruda when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Diamantino Arruda made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Cresitobalo Rilo sent off a good shot on target.
