The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cresitobalo Rilo might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ernest Paddle. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cresitobalo Rilo ran back to his position shaking his head. Cresitobalo Rilo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ernest Paddle read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. Johan Schönberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nath Hislop, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Johan Schönberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eustacio Astrada, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Despite this Ernest Paddle quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Johan Schönberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Humphrey Virgin in the 26th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the game, Cresitobalo Rilo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Ernest Paddle was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Johan Schönberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eustacio Astrada, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. 34 minutes into the match, Crusaders's goalkeeper Ernest Paddle had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cresitobalo Rilo. Johan Schönberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! Cresitobalo Rilo took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ernest Paddle. Ernest Paddle dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Ernest Paddle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cresitobalo Rilo in the 52nd minute of the match. The supporters of Cusco FC booed when Crusaders was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eustacio Astrada didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 65 minutes, Roy Keane mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Crusaders and the Cusco FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 65 played minutes Crusaders got a freekick which was hit by Roy Keane. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Humphrey Virgin during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Crusaders getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Humphrey Virgin hit a great ball. Todd Morrison could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Johan Schönberg made a huge save. Cusco FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Carlos Zambrano in the 75th minute. Cresitobalo Rilo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Ernest Paddle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Johan Schönberg made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Eustacio Astrada sent off a good shot on target. Ernest Paddle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cresitobalo Rilo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 89 minutes into the match, Nath Hislop dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Johan Schönberg, 2-2. After 95 played minutes Cusco FC got a freekick which was hit by Antal Majoros. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
