Sosoco FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Sosoco FC's Diamantino Arruda proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Sosoco FC from getting a goal against them. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sosoco FC's goalkeeper Diamantino Arruda, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sosoco FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Edmílson Veloso in the 19th minute. Cusco FC's Maria Coronado quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Geovanni Soeiro, made in the 22nd minute of the game. Cusco FC's Carlos Zambrano was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Diamantino Arruda in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 39th minute, Gabon Salantes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cusco FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Diamantino Arruda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gabon Salantes in the 43rd minute of the match. Johan Schönberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enio Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The supporters of Cusco FC booed when Sosoco FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enio Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cresitobalo Rilo was the one to do the kick off. If Edmílson Veloso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Diamantino Arruda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabon Salantes in the 56th minute of play. Cresitobalo Rilo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Diamantino Arruda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sosoco FC's Lúcio Mattos was substituted for Dorian Linares. Sosoco FC's Giuseppe Barreto was substituted for Edmílson Veloso. Diamantino Arruda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cresitobalo Rilo in the 60th minute of play. Diamantino Arruda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cresitobalo Rilo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Cusco FC booed when Sosoco FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giuseppe Barreto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlos Zambrano took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 77th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Diamantino Arruda. Sosoco FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Cusco FC's Cresitobalo Rilo got a free kick in the 78th minute. After some careless play in the Cusco FC defense, Enio Azevedo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Johan Schönberg. The Cusco FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Johan Schönberg should have stopped the shot. After 83 minutes, Amadeu Senna mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sosoco FC and the Cusco FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 83rd match minute, Sosoco FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amadeu Senna to maneuver through the defense. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sosoco FC's goalkeeper Diamantino Arruda, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. For all the effort they put into the match, the Sosoco FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Cusco FC.
