With a little luck, El Pinar's Ni Tian Peng got control of the ball when Cresitobalo Rilo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cusco FC's Johan Schönberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Süreyya Uzer in the 5th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elija Maiz in the 8th minute of play forced Cusco FC's goalkeeper Johan Schönberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Johan Schönberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elija Maiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. After a rather tough play, Cusco FC's Gabon Salantes got a free kick in the 10th minute. Johan Schönberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Estebano Lecanda in the 12th minute of play. Johan Schönberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toma Merlushkin in the 17th minute of the match. Johan Schönberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Süreyya Uzer, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 25th match minute, Cusco FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gabon Salantes to maneuver through the defense. El Pinar's Ni Tian Peng proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save El Pinar from getting a goal against them. Ni Tian Peng was out of position in the 40 minute of play, and Cresitobalo Rilo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cresitobalo Rilo really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. A throw-in in the 43rd minute of the game was made by Nils-Åke Myhr with Ronaldo Feloaga as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Estebano Lecanda stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Cusco FC's goalkeeper Johan Schönberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Estebano Lecanda. El Pinar's Ni Tian Peng played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cresitobalo Rilo in the 54th minute of play. In the 60th minute Gabon Salantes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ni Tian Peng saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 62nd minute, Cresitobalo Rilo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ni Tian Peng was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Johan Schönberg was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Süreyya Uzer showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 65 minute of play. Estebano Lecanda took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Johan Schönberg. Johan Schönberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. Ismael Llantada was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 74 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Cresitobalo Rilo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cusco FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cresitobalo Rilo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ni Tian Peng breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Estebano Lecanda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Johan Schönberg made a huge save. Johan Schönberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Toma Merlushkin in the 82nd minute. Johan Schönberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Estebano Lecanda in the 86th minute of the match. The El Pinar supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing El Pinar would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
