The São Paulo F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ronaldo Crispín in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ernest Paddle saved Crusaders from getting behind. Tiago Godoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Todd Morrison in the 43rd minute of play. 45 minutes into the match, São Paulo F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Humphrey Virgin came free, but Tiago Godoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. São Paulo F.C.'s Tiago Godoi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save São Paulo F.C. from getting a goal against them. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Ernest Paddle had in the 95thth minute some difficulties stopping Dirk Snabl's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his right side, but he still managed to hold the ball For all the effort they put into the match, the São Paulo F.C. players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Crusaders.
