The audience thought a goal was coming when Süreyya Uzer got free with Guaberto Cucao in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 22 minutes into the match, El Pinar's Süreyya Uzer sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Guaberto Cucao narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Estebano Lecanda to make the kick off.
