The audience was convinced that İskender Baki Sabi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Victoriano Bernaldo was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. 18 minutes into the match, Dep Colonia Avellaneda's Darryl Buckner sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Olavo Henriques narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Dep Colonia Avellaneda's goalkeeper Victoriano Bernaldo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the Dep Colonia Avellaneda defense, İskender Baki Sabi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Victoriano Bernaldo. The Dep Colonia Avellaneda fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Victoriano Bernaldo should have stopped the shot. A sloppy throw-in by Edmond Suetens in the 44th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Dep Colonia Avellaneda's Florencio Carlomagno. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Darryl Buckner stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Leopoldo Rosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olavo Henriques having to interfere. In the 58th play minute İskender Baki Sabi came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Victoriano Bernaldo. 0-2. Racing Club made a substitution. Tayyar Taner replaced Maksymilian Walaszkiewicz. Victoriano Bernaldo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geronimo Salomone in the 62nd minute of play. 65 minutes into the match, Dep Colonia Avellaneda's goalkeeper Victoriano Bernaldo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Godofredo Remigio. If Godofredo Remigio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 72 minutes into the match, Dep Colonia Avellaneda's goal looked a bit too open when Godofredo Remigio came free, but Victoriano Bernaldo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75th match minute, Racing Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tayyar Taner to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geronimo Salomone in the 79th minute of play forced Dep Colonia Avellaneda's goalkeeper Victoriano Bernaldo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Racing Club's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joaquin Uxio in the 80th minute. Joaquin Uxio made a great header on Racing Club's corner, it was just that Dep Colonia Avellaneda's Victoriano Bernaldo managed to reach the ball for a save. A collision led to Racing Club getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Marcos Alonso hit a great ball. Claudio Cerritos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Racing Club's Godofredo Remigio got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vasile Tufescu charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vasile Tufescu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Vasile Tufescu kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match.
