The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes in the game, Wu Qi dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Matthew Garrido kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. In the 8th minute, Wu Qi made a precise shot to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Wolffram Lobo's late challenge caught a Panama's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wolffram Lobo helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Panama booed when Samurai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wolffram Lobo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wu Qi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marcos Cotilla having to make a save. 15 minutes into the match, Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wu Qi. An unexpectedly hard shot by Timmy Henriksson in the 16th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Timmy Henriksson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcos Cotilla was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. Marcos Cotilla was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Allan Bivall showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 21 minute of play. With a little luck, Panama's Marcos Cotilla got control of the ball when Wu Qi tried to sneak it across the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, Samurai's Wu Qi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marcos Cotilla narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A sloppy throw-in by Matthew Garrido in the 30th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Samurai's Esbjörn Hultstrand. Timmy Henriksson might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcos Cotilla. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Timmy Henriksson ran back to his position shaking his head. After 31 played minutes Samurai got a freekick which was hit by Alto Wing. Panama's Marcos Cotilla proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Panama from getting a goal against them. In the 38th minute, Abraham Alguacil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 45th minute, Samurai's Alto Wing seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Alto Wing the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Samurai protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Alto Wing had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 44th minute, one of Samurai:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Samurai. The referee gave Panama a penalty, 46 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Abraham Alguacil, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Samurai's Vince Di Cola. 3-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wu Qi was the one to do the kick off. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wu Qi, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. The audience was convinced that Wu Qi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcos Cotilla was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. 58 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Wu Qi came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Hernán Grana fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Samurai's protests and gave Hernán Grana a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Samurai's Hernán Grana got a free kick in the 64th minute. Hernán Grana hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Tomas Berganza took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vince Di Cola. Vince Di Cola dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. Vince Di Cola made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Isidoro Sarmiento sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Panama booed when Samurai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hermengildo Huly didn't get a good kick on the ball. Esbjörn Hultstrand scored 5-2 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcos Cotilla, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wu Qi, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. The Samurai fans' excitement grew in the 87th match minute when Samurai's Wu Qi looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Marcos Cotilla came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Samurai's Wu Qi. But to his dismay, Wu Qi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-2.
