Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Julian Murillo made the kick off and thus started the match. Hüseyin Turan Elçibey recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 2nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fernanco Peso who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 3rdth minute tested the skills of Rolando Noboa when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Jon Iruegas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luz Tejedor in the 16th minute of the match. In the 17th minute, Emmanuel Reyes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Peru getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Milagros Fraga hit a great ball. 26 minutes into the match, Julian Murillo notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Sporting Cristal's Jon Iruegas. Jon Iruegas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Fernanco Peso took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Rolando Noboa to make any attempt to save it. 37 minutes into the match, Sporting Cristal's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Jon Iruegas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The throw-in from Frank Tassotti in the 38th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Alonso Berganza. When Cazimir Gogea fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sporting Cristal's protests and gave Cazimir Gogea a yellow card for diving instead. After a defensive mix-up in Sporting Cristal's zone, Luz Tejedor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jon Iruegas came out of the goal and Luz Tejedor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fernanco Peso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Noboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. In the 47th minute Antonio Tenorio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jon Iruegas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fernanco Peso to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Milagros Fraga fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 58 minutes into the match, Sporting Cristal's goal looked a bit too open when Antonio Tenorio came free, but Jon Iruegas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 61stth minute of the game Fernanco Peso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Peru's Rolando Noboa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Frank Tassotti made in the 66th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Fernanco Peso however managed to control. After 67 played minutes Sporting Cristal got a freekick which was hit by Hüseyin Turan Elçibey. Sporting Cristal's defense didn't have a chance, in the 69th minute, when Luz Tejedor scored to the left of an out of position Jon Iruegas, making the score, 1-2. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christian Luciano in the 79th minute of play. 80 minutes had been played when some careless play by Peru's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gertjan De Ryck was slow to take the kick. During this time Sporting Cristal's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Gertjan De Ryck almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Peru's Rolando Noboa did a great save. 81 minutes into the match, Sporting Cristal's goal looked a bit too open when Antonio Tenorio came free, but Jon Iruegas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antonio Tenorio in the 83rd minute of play forced Sporting Cristal's goalkeeper Jon Iruegas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 86 minutes of play, Sporting Cristal's Christian Luciano made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rolando Noboa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. In the 90th minute, Christian Luciano made a precise shot to the right of Rolando Noboa. Peru's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Sporting Cristal were victorious despite being under pressure from Peru for much of the match.
