Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Fernanco Peso started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After a defensive mix-up in Colombia's zone, Ronaldão Nogueira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Manzanares came out of the goal and Ronaldão Nogueira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Axel Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Colombia's supporters rose to their feet, but Axel Montenegro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jon Iruegas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Abram Sarmiento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Jon Iruegas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 11th minute, Fernanco Peso reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Pedro Manzanares. The goal made the score 1-0. Jon Iruegas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abram Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jon Iruegas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Axel Montenegro in the 16th minute of the match. After 17 played minutes Sporting Cristal got a freekick which was hit by Gertjan De Ryck. Sporting Cristal's Fernanco Peso got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fernanco Peso got free with Pedro Manzanares in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fernanco Peso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Pedro Manzanares made a huge save. 24 minutes into the match, Axel Montenegro notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Sporting Cristal's Jon Iruegas. Jon Iruegas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jon Iruegas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abram Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 29 minutes, Hüseyin Turan Elçibey managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sporting Cristal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hüseyin Turan Elçibey was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 31st minute, Fernanco Peso fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abram Sarmiento in the 35th minute of play forced Sporting Cristal's goalkeeper Jon Iruegas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38thth minute of the game Fernanco Peso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Colombia's Pedro Manzanares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jon Iruegas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abram Sarmiento in the 40th minute of play. The corner ended in Gertjan De Ryck almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Colombia's Pedro Manzanares did a great save. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Abram Sarmiento was the one to do the kick off. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hüseyin Turan Elçibey in the 56th minute of the match. 58 minutes into the match, Sporting Cristal's goalkeeper Jon Iruegas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pascual Carballar. In the 61st minute Colombia were awarded a corner. Axel Montenegro went to the cornerflag to take it. Axel Montenegro made a great header on Colombia's corner, it was just that Sporting Cristal's Jon Iruegas managed to reach the ball for a save. Colombia's Ignacio Mastache was substituted for Abram Sarmiento. After some careless play in the Colombia defense, Fernanco Peso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Manzanares. The Colombia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Manzanares should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Colombia booed when Sporting Cristal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cazimir Gogea didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Sporting Cristal's Cazimir Gogea got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Jon Iruegas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kevin Mastache, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. The audience was convinced that Ignacio Mastache's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jon Iruegas was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. After 81 played minutes Colombia got a freekick which was hit by Luis Cazalla. A collision led to Sporting Cristal getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Delfino Rosario hit a great ball. 86 minutes into the match, Sporting Cristal's Christian Luciano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pedro Manzanares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 90 minutes into the game, Sporting Cristal's Christian Luciano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedro Manzanares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Cazimir Gogea hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Sporting Cristal were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Colombia for a fine match.
