After 9 minutes, Hansjörg Görlitz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Otten and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to SC Otten getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Hansjörg Görlitz hit a great ball. Olaf Lübke didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 21 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Agustín Saelices. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olaf Lübke having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kartikeya von Gyldenfeldt got free with Julio Vera in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Olaf Lübke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 33rd minute of play. Luis Andino scored 0-2 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Olaf Lübke, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Olaf Lübke didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. After 39 played minutes SC Otten got a freekick which was hit by Reinhold Friedl. 40 minutes into the match, Luis Andino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Olaf Lübke. SC Otten's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luis Andino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Heinrich Ziervogel kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Zorita succeeded in the game's 48th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-4. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Olaf Lübke breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 59th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olaf Lübke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 60 minutes, Kartikeya von Gyldenfeldt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Otten's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kartikeya von Gyldenfeldt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. SC Otten's Rudi Tenhagen was substituted for Kartikeya von Gyldenfeldt. 65 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Olaf Lübke. SC Otten's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. When Hansjörg Görlitz was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 68 minutes had been played. The supporters of Ecuador booed when SC Otten was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hansjörg Görlitz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Olaf Lübke didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Olaf Lübke in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rudi Tenhagen in the 74th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 89 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-7. Olaf Lübke was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Felix Montenegro struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Olaf Lübke didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. In the 98th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olaf Lübke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador played a much better game than SC Otten and deserved their victory. The SC Otten players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
