Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 4th minute after Trapiche's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. In the 4th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Arias to maneuver through the defense. Hugo Itzaina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 12 minutes into the match, Trapiche's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Federico Fe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Federico Fe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agustín Saelices, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Federico Fe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Federico Fe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 28th minute of the match. 33 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Trapiche's Federico Fe. Federico Fe was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Trapiche's Federico Fe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 37th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Daniel Zorita put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Federico Fe. In the 40th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Federico Fe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 41st minute. 46 minutes into the match, Trapiche's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Federico Fe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 47 played minutes Trapiche got a freekick which was hit by Saverio Osasun. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Feliciano Porfiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Federico Fe made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Trapiche getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Leonard Radziszewski hit a great ball. Federico Fe made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 59th minute. In the 61st minute, Primitivo Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Trapiche's Federico Fe got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Federico Fe made a huge save. Federico Fe stood somewhat misplaced when Daniel Zorita came free in front of goal and shot 0-5 to the left of him in the 76 minute. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 83rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Federico Fe in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Federico Fe having to interfere. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Federico Fe made a huge save. Ecuador played a much better game than Trapiche and deserved their victory. The Trapiche players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
