Qi Guo Yue showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Facundo Cadaval kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. After the first half Mexico were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Elodio Faine made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Lucas Bünzli came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Facundo Cadaval during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 54 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Facundo Cadaval. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Facundo Cadaval got a free kick in the 56th minute. Lautaro Mancebo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Qi Guo Yue came out and tried to block the shot, but Lautaro Mancebo slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 60th minute. Qi Guo Yue didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Joel Gaona went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abelado Masson, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. In the 66th minute, Abelado Masson made a precise shot to the right of Dante Lacasa. Mexico's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-4. Torreoncito's Jeremías Basabilvaso was substituted for Abelado Masson. In the 89thth minute of the game Jeremías Basabilvaso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mexico's Dante Lacasa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Torreoncito were awarded a corner in the 90th minute after Mexico's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Rufino Narea took the corner. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Luca Zorita hit a great ball. Torreoncito's Jeremías Basabilvaso got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elodio Faine in the 95th minute of play. When the match clock showed 95 minutes, the score became 3-4 when Elodio Faine sped through Mexico's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dante Lacasa. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Mexico had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
