The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

With a little luck, Zebolla FC's Nicodemo Sierro got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Severiano Corneja's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Nicodemo Sierro made a huge save. Nicodemo Sierro was out of position in the 90 minute of play, and Cristian Sancho capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cristian Sancho really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. The Zebolla FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
