Roberto Aliceda charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After 13 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Beldad. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Francisco Carabia in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joaquin Gayoso saved Uruguay from getting behind. After having played for 17 minutes, Maximiliano Escribano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Uruguay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maximiliano Escribano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 19 minutes into the game, Uruguay's Maximiliano Escribano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Xarles Herrero made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Uruguay's attentive Alberto Gisbert managed to snatch the ball when Atahuallpa Quito made a throw-in in the 55th minute of the game. Diego Arrueta charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Carabia, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Xarles Herrero made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Maximiliano Escribano sent off a good shot on target. Camilo Franco scored 1-5 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Xarles Herrero, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alberto Gisbert might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Xarles Herrero. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alberto Gisbert ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Azul Y Plomo getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Alfredo Cevallo hit a great ball. In the 93rd minute, Uruguay's Alberto Gisbert ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Xarles Herrero. Xarles Herrero yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-6. Uruguay's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
