The wind increased when Joel Gaona made the kick off in the second half. In the 95th match minute, Fala Sério FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benê Aguiar to maneuver through the defense. In the 96th minute of the match, Joel Gaona tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Afonsinho Marques saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Mexico's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
