After having played for 3 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the San Marino Thm defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zilar Presedo. The San Marino Thm fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zilar Presedo should have stopped the shot. 11 minutes had been played when some careless play by San Marino Thm's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Felix Montenegro got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Zilar Presedo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. San Marino Thm's Zilar Presedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 14th minute of play. Otsoko Parada kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. 16 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Zilar Presedo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ryan Reynolds recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 23 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zilar Presedo was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 27 played minutes San Marino Thm got a freekick which was hit by Lucjan Kilar. San Marino Thm's Zilar Presedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 29th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustín Saelices in the 31st minute of play forced San Marino Thm's goalkeeper Zilar Presedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Jader Duran stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Jader Duran tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. San Marino Thm's Cuarto Charro got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zilar Presedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. In the 40th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. San Marino Thm's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 42nd minute of play forced San Marino Thm's goalkeeper Zilar Presedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to San Marino Thm getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Otsoko Parada hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zilar Presedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jader Duran to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, San Marino Thm's Zilar Presedo got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 57th minute. Zilar Presedo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 58th minute. San Marino Thm's Zilar Presedo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save San Marino Thm from getting a goal against them. Jader Duran's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Cristian Sancho's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 64thth minute, Zilar Presedo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After having played for 69 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Thanks to some nice moves Cristian Sancho could shoot a difficult shot in the 74th minute, which Zilar Presedo however easily saved by the left post. In the 75th minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Zilar Presedo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 76th minute, James Rodriguez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zilar Presedo having to interfere. With a little luck, San Marino Thm's Zilar Presedo got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Zilar Presedo firmly grabbed it by the left post. Daniel Zorita was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 96th minute. Ecuador's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than San Marino Thm throughout the match.
