Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 6 minutes into the game, Rubens Neto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Laranjense's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. After a rather tough play, Laranjense's Rubens Neto got a free kick in the 6th minute. Palmiro Gueifão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. In the 15th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Palmiro Gueifão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 16th minute after Laranjense's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Ecuador's Felix Montenegro suffered a sore thigh after 17 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Ecuador's Diego Mancebo was substituted for Felix Montenegro. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Laranjense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pang Chao Jun didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Palmiro Gueifão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Palmiro Gueifão came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Diego Mancebo. But to his dismay, Diego Mancebo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Rubens Neto was shown his second yellow card after 30 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 31st match minute, Laranjense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rubens Neto to maneuver through the defense. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Milosz Juszkowski sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Laranjense's Alfredinho Cabral got a free kick in the 37th minute. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Milosz Juszkowski made a kick off. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Milosz Juszkowski went, in the 51st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. In the 55th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Sancho to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 58th minute, which Palmiro Gueifão however easily saved by the left post. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Milosz Juszkowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. In the 60th minute, Alfredinho Cabral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Milosz Juszkowski in the 63rd minute of play. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Milosz Juszkowski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Palmiro Gueifão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 66th minute. 67 minutes into the game, one of Ecuador:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Palmiro Gueifão made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Milosz Juszkowski in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Laranjense's defense didn't have a chance, in the 84th minute, when Daniel Zorita scored to the left of an out of position Palmiro Gueifão, making the score, 3-2. Laranjense's Palmiro Gueifão proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Laranjense from getting a goal against them. In the 88th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Palmiro Gueifão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Milosz Juszkowski in the 92nd minute of the match. Daniel Zoritas short, quick shot in the 93rdth minute got Palmiro Gueifão to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Agustín Saelices hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Milosz Juszkowski in the 95th minute of play.
