Iwan Grocholski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pascual Carballar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 5 minutes into the match, Kevin Mastache had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Iwan Grocholski. La Academia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kevin Mastache was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After 8 played minutes Colombia got a freekick which was hit by Santino Seco. Maxín Bacarreza struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Pedro Manzanares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for La Academia. Aaron Mazuste fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Manzanares having to interfere. Gong Peng Bo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Abram Sarmiento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Robby Woody got free with Pedro Manzanares in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 23 minutes of play, La Academia's Robby Woody made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pedro Manzanares was left in no man's land by his defense there! A hard shot by Francisco Alberto Zañartu from long distance, 26 minutes into the match, got Pedro Manzanares's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 27th minute Francisco Alberto Zañartu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 29 minutes into the game, Francisco Alberto Zañartu recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Pedro Manzanares. Francisco Alberto Zañartu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. Maxín Bacarreza lost his temper 33 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in La Academia fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 33rd minute. Penalty! Iwan Grocholski had in the 35thth minute some difficulties stopping Axel Montenegro's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Kevin Mastache sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abram Sarmiento to make the kick off. In the 50th minute, Abram Sarmiento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Iwan Grocholski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abram Sarmiento, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lalo Salamanca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. La Academia's Iwan Grocholski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Montenegro in the 55th minute of play. In the 59th minute Kevin Mastache shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iwan Grocholski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 63 minutes of play, Colombia's Axel Montenegro made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Iwan Grocholski was left in no man's land by his defense there! La Academia's Eric Sillén was substituted for Gong Peng Bo. In the 69th minute, Abram Sarmiento fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Iwan Grocholski, passed just outside the right post. 71 minutes into the match, La Academia's goalkeeper Iwan Grocholski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Axel Montenegro. 73 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Eric Sillén came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th minute Colombia were awarded a corner. Kevin Mastache went to the cornerflag to take it. Robby Woody thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Iwan Grocholski, a very annoying self made goal in the 78th minute which led to 2-3. Iwan Grocholski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ignacio Mastache in the 80th minute of the match. In the 82nd minute of the game Hugo Porta made a throw-in which Aaron Mazuste played forward. After some careless play in the Colombia defense, Lalo Salamanca kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Manzanares. The Colombia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Manzanares should have stopped the shot. Kevin Mastache might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Iwan Grocholski. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kevin Mastache ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 89th minute of the match Colombia got a corner. La Academia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Kevin Mastache ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Colombia's Kevin Mastache to fire away a dangerous shot which Iwan Grocholski despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 92 minutes into the match, La Academia's goal looked a bit too open when Ignacio Mastache came free, but Iwan Grocholski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 93rd minute of the game Hugo Porta made a throw-in which Eric Sillén played forward. La Academia were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Colombia to leave the ground with a draw.
