Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Axel Tasis started the match with the kick off. Hugo Ferrant kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. A hard shot 13 in the game by Astor Amor from a close distance when the talented Benito Sanz managed to make a qualified save. Costa Rica's players were relieved. 17 minutes into the game, Hugo Ferrant threw the ball into play from the sideline. Club A.Douglas Haig's Reynaldo Ignatius quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig got a free kick in the 17th minute. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Astor Amor took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Benito Sanz to make any attempt to save it. 21 minutes into the game, Lautaro Puig was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club A.Douglas Haig the free kick. A collision led to Club A.Douglas Haig getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Walter Van De Beeck hit a great ball. Hugo Ferrant made in the 27th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Club A.Douglas Haig's Reynaldo Ignatius. Club A.Douglas Haig's Astor Amor got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With his leg Benito Sanz managed to avoid a goal in the 33rdth minute, when Club A.Douglas Haig's Astor Amor fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 35 played minutes Club A.Douglas Haig got a freekick which was hit by Walter Van De Beeck. Astor Amor's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benito Sanz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Virgilio Bautista managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club A.Douglas Haig's supporters rose to their feet, but Virgilio Bautista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Victorio Ubelteso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Noboa, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. The Club A.Douglas Haig fans' excitement grew in the 47th match minute when Club A.Douglas Haig's Astor Amor looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Astor Amor to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Club A.Douglas Haig was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reynaldo Ignatius didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Eliseo Noboa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Costa Rica's supporters rose to their feet, but Eliseo Noboa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Victorio Ubelteso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Astor Amor went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Zbyszko Sebzda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 75 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Victorio Ubelteso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Justo Perfecto fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club A.Douglas Haig's protests and gave Justo Perfecto a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Club A.Douglas Haig getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Justo Perfecto hit a great ball. 81 minutes into the match, Astor Amor had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Astor Amor was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. In the 85thth minute of the game Zbyszko Sebzda who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Astor Amor might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Astor Amor ran back to his position shaking his head. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Astor Amor, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Axel Tasis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victorio Ubelteso having to interfere. Virgilio Bautista's late challenge caught a Costa Rica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Virgilio Bautista helped the player get up and apologised. Virgilio Bautista kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. Club A.Douglas Haig walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
