The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Diamond Football Club's Toninho do Nascimento got a free kick in the 81st minute. 82 minutes into the game, Maximiliano Escribano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-4. Cléberson Alves was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cléberson Alves was a little too slow when Francisco Seco got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 85th minute. The score was now 3-5. 93 minutes into the match, Diamond Football Club's goalkeeper Cléberson Alves had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Maximiliano Escribano. Uruguay's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
