Andréas Linquist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 24th minute of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Grêmio Papão de WC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eugênio Fontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Filip Mika in the 36th minute. Grêmio Papão de WC were awarded a corner in the 37th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luiz Paulo Marquez took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Luiz Paulo Marquez got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Marcus Rashford struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Grêmio Papão de WC.
