The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Venancio Cesario made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abram Sarmiento in the 14th minute of play. The supporters of Colombia booed when Yofré AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Blas Blasi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 24th minute Axel Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Venancio Cesario saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernesto Poncio in the 27th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Yofré AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Montenegro came free, but Venancio Cesario reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abram Sarmiento to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abram Secada got free with Venancio Cesario in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 77th minute Ignacio Mastache shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Venancio Cesario saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
