In the 20th minute, Francisco Seco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With his leg Joaquin Gayoso managed to avoid a goal in the 25thth minute, when Diamond Football Club's Albertinho Borges fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Manuel Simão fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Diamond Football Club's protests and gave Manuel Simão a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Diamond Football Club's Manuel Simão got a free kick in the 26th minute. In the 29th minute Francisco Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cléberson Alves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso got control of the ball when Albertinho Borges tried to sneak it across the goal line. Albertinho Borges might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joaquin Gayoso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Albertinho Borges ran back to his position shaking his head. 35 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Alexandre Soeiro came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexandre Soeiro in the 41st minute of play. Albertinho Borges came free with the goalkeeper in the 46th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Joaquin Gayoso could save by the left post. A collision led to Uruguay getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Camilo Franco hit a great ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Francisco Seco to strike the kick off in the second half. Alexandre Soeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alexandre Soeiro struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Joaquin Gayoso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Diamond Football Club. Nico Corrêa hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Cléberson Alves made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Camilo Franco sent off a good shot on target. 65 minutes into the game, Nico Corrêa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Diamond Football Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Uruguay the free kick. Cléberson Alves made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Francisco Seco sent off a good shot on target. 71 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Albertinho Borges came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joaquin Gayoso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Albertinho Borges's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. The supporters of Diamond Football Club booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Franco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albertinho Borges in the 74th minute of play. After 75 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Beldad. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Diamond Football Club's Albertinho Borges. But to his dismay, Albertinho Borges quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. The supporters of Uruguay booed when Diamond Football Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Toninho do Nascimento didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Diamond Football Club's zone, Francisco Seco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cléberson Alves came out of the goal and Francisco Seco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 83rd play minute Francisco Seco came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Cléberson Alves. 3-1. Cléberson Alves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 87th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Albertinho Borges managed to get in a good position for a shot. Diamond Football Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Albertinho Borges was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joaquin Gayoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Albertinho Borges in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joaquin Gayoso saved Uruguay from getting behind. Diamond Football Club's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
