When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. 67 minutes into the game, Elano dos Santos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Atlético Hacha's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. After 68 minutes of play Atlético Hacha's Juan Aldea was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Ecuador made a substitution. Luz Palacio replaced Daniel Zorita. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Atlético Hacha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Aldea didn't get a good kick on the ball.
