Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 21 minutes into the match, Nevşehirspor's goal looked a bit too open when Edward Mcdonald came free, but Gianluca Buffon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marco Day showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ragnar Åberg in the 22nd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Monty Rogers in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gianluca Buffon saved Nevşehirspor from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Ragnar Åberg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marco Day was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Gianluca Buffon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Monty Rogers in the 28th minute of the match. A collision led to Nevşehirspor getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Angelo Di Livio hit a great ball. Nevşehirspor's Rıdvan Kurushov got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A sloppy throw-in by Diego Bradley in the 34th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Nevşehirspor's Baltasar Frasquito. Nevşehirspor's Gianluca Buffon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edward Mcdonald in the 36th minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, Monty Rogers notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Nevşehirspor's Gianluca Buffon. Gianluca Buffon was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Ragnar Åberg made the kick off in the second half. Gianluca Buffon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cassius Byrne, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Nevşehirspor's Ferdi Kadıoğlu was substituted for Cankut Koytak. Nevşehirspor made a substitution. Bror Kent replaced Hami Tuğaltay. When Nevşehirspor's Cipriano Proença in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Diego Bradley made in the 93rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Nevşehirspor's Baltasar Frasquito. Nevşehirspor's Gianluca Buffon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Nevşehirspor from getting a goal against them. USA's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
