When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. Mexico's Alberto Tafalla got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Despite this Tony Chaves quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. SE Palestra Itália's Bruno Dias was substituted for Caetano Félix.
