Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. If Jacobo Aritza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Abiogenesis's Delmar Libertad got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 8th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Santiago Eladio was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. A collision led to Abiogenesis getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Ignacio Uzuri hit a great ball. 19 minutes into the match, Abiogenesis's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Santiago Eladio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Abiogenesis getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Eleuterio Iraido hit a great ball. Santiago Eladio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristian Sancho's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. Luis Andino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Santiago Eladio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Abiogenesis's Fernan Orlondon got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Abiogenesis's Santiago Eladio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 38th minute of play. If Fernan Orlondon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jacobo Aritza made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Jacobo Aritza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Santiago Eladio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Santiago Eladio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernan Orlondon in the 65th minute of play. In the 67th minute Fernan Orlondon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Daniel Zorita kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Santiago Eladio. That made the score 0-2 in the 68 minute of play. Abiogenesis made a substitution. Joel Caetano replaced Eleuterio Iraido. In the 72nd minute, Joel Caetano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 75th minute, Luis Andino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Santiago Eladio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. In the 81st minute Fernan Orlondon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 81st minute, Leonides Austin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristian Sancho's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 83rdth minute, Santiago Eladio skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Felix Montenegro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Santiago Eladio. That made the score 0-3 in the 84 minute of play. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Santiago Eladio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Ecuador's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
