Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Luis Andino got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 0-1. 6 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Vachon Luaces tried to sneak it across the goal line. J.P. Hauge struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chancleta SC. The audience was convinced that J.P. Hauge's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Agustín Raedo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Julio Vera came out and tried to block the shot, but Agustín Raedo slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 16th minute. After having played for 24 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Chancleta SC's Obregón Arrizabalaga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 25th minute of play. Gavica Trigo hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Obregón Arrizabalaga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. Vachon Luaces could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Chancleta SC's Gavica Trigo got a free kick in the 34th minute. In the 38th minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Obregón Arrizabalaga was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. In the 41st minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Obregón Arrizabalaga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 43th minute after Chancleta SC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. After the first half Ecuador were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the match clock showed 69 minutes, the score became 1-4 when Cristian Sancho sped through Chancleta SC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Obregón Arrizabalaga. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from J.P. Hauge, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 90 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Agustín Saelices. In the 93rd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Zorita to maneuver through the defense. J.P. Hauge kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Chancleta SC.
