Rolando Noboa came out and tried to block the shot, but Densill 杨天剑 slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 16th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Julian Murillo in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gianluca Pagliuca prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Eliseo Mina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Peru booed when Deportivo Kadorna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leons Gudrenieks didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 36th minute of the match Peru got a corner. Deportivo Kadorna's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by Peru's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Densill 杨天剑 was slow to take the kick. During this time Deportivo Kadorna's players had a chance to rest. Leons Gudrenieks made in the 41st minute of the game a quick throw-in and Norberto Tiadoro immediately put the ball in play. After a defensive mix-up in Peru's zone, Long Jing Liang stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rolando Noboa came out of the goal and Long Jing Liang tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 44 minutes into the match, Peru's Milagros Fraga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gianluca Pagliuca narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 45th minute, Leons Gudrenieks hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Deportivo Kadorna's Gianluca Pagliuca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 47th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Densill 杨天剑 to make the kick off. Milagros Fraga came free with the goalkeeper in the 51st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Gianluca Pagliuca could save by the left post. Peru were awarded a corner in the 58th minute after Deportivo Kadorna's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luz Tejedor took the corner. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 75th minute of play forced Deportivo Kadorna's goalkeeper Gianluca Pagliuca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 82 minutes into the match, Deportivo Kadorna's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Gianluca Pagliuca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Melchor Tome came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee showed Milagros Fraga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 96 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Carl Beck came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peru's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
