The Club Atlético Atlanta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carlos Germano should have stopped the shot. Club Atlético Atlanta's Paolo Caradaro got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Marcos Berdoi took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Sílvio Luiz Goiano to make any attempt to save it. Eustaquio Jaizki did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-1 to the left of a surprised Sílvio Luiz Goiano 32 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carmelo Sifon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
