The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Club Atlético Atlanta's Carlos Germano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lars Schira in the 8th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, SV Bad Harzburg's goal looked a bit too open when Marcos Berdoi came free, but Tim Wiese reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tim Wiese showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eustaquio Jaizki in the 41st minute of the match. Carlos Germano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teodor Covaci, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Halldor Sönksen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Club Atlético Atlanta's Carlos Germano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Club Atlético Atlanta from getting a goal against them. Carlos Germano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Club Atlético Atlanta players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
