The corner led Venezuela's Joshua Secada to fire away a dangerous shot which Gabriel Sayveon despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 16 minutes, Jonathan Ferrant successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Pastor Emmanuel who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 20thth minute tested the skills of Jonathan Ferrant when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Andres Chinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pastor Emmanuel, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. The Venezuela fans' excitement grew in the 91st match minute when Venezuela's Tomas Illescas looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pastor Emmanuel in the 94th minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Los Linyeras fully deserved thier win.
